LRU member solidarity training
18th September 2019 @ 6:45 pm - 9:00 pm
A fun, hands-on intro to how we do member solidarity (beta) in the union.
Member solidarity is the core of LRU organising. It’s where we collectively organise around specific members’ housing disputes, planning powerful actions to fight back against the landlords and power-holders that oppress and exploit us.
You don’t need to be in the member solidarity team to get stuck in and you don’t need any previous experience or knowledge. The more people involved in member solidarity, the more powerful our collective organising!
In this training, we’ll be:
looking at some of our amazing wins over the last year
playing collective roleplaying games around organising scenarios modelled on past disputes
introducing our member solidarity principles and our ‘five-step process’
staging an empowering participatory eviction-resistance role play
connecting up with branch member solidarity teams and the union-wide member solidarity working group
CHILDCARE is available if needed. Please email hello@londonrentersunion.org to request.
See you there!
