The Common House creates time and space for radical social and ecological justice groups to work and hold events, and we try to practice egalitarian and just relations in the way we organise.
We can continue to do this work thanks to the generous support we get from our members and friends.
Become a Friend of the Common House
The Common House is entirely volunteer-run by individuals delegated from our member groups and friends of the Common House. We’re a non-profit and a registered Community Interest Company (CIC). We are funded partly through usage fees paid by the groups who use the space, partly by grants that our members apply for, and partly through donations through the Donor Box.
You can also join as a friend of the Common House if you’d like to help run the space. As well as needing donations, we also need people to help writing funding applications, or join working groups. If you’d like to help with writing applications or other tasks – no prior experience is needed and we’ll support you through the whole process – please email us at info[at]commonhouse.org.uk.
Contribute to the ‘wish list‘
We also have an ongoing wish list for everyday items – below are some examples. If you have any of these, please bring them in next time you’re coming to the Common House and leave them in a suitable place so people can use them. (Or for bigger things, email info@commonhouse.org.uk).
- bin bags
- toilet roll
- cleaning products
- tea and coffee
- paper – for printing on our laser printer and risograph (either A4 or A3, 80-200 gsm)
