News from September Common House Assembly

As usual, we heard about all the exciting things member groups have been up to over the past month. Queer Kickabout reported back about their first Queer Olympics event in Victoria park last month; it was massively popular with queer grassroots sports groups putting on events like rollerskating and basketball, followed by a picnic. Feminist fightback reported a dry run of their radical history walk, exploring feminist and working class histories of the docklands. Concrete Action will be meeting to focus their aims for the next year, talking about all things housing related.

We heard from a former member of Autonomous Tech Fetish, a past Common House member group, about her latest plans to teach the world about open source software. This follows the success of her latest workshop on Libre Graphics, run as part of the Common House ‘Skills for the Struggle’ series.

We are continuing to think about how we can support the wider activist community with its tech needs, and what resources different struggles need right now.

We have also now managed to set a date for our vision day, which will be on Sunday 13th. Friends and regular users of the space who want to attend should contact info@commonhouse.org.uk for details.
